“An excellent fundraising suggestion  that is now posted on our website from Nancy Lynn, Fraternal Fundraising Chairman, Washington.  “Please visit School Support Programs”.

Hi Jan,
               I have been reading the brag board and it is so nice to have the many contributions coming into Moose Charities.

               I have joined the terracycle.net program for our WOTM.  In this program you collect Lays potato chip bags, scotch tape dispenser, corks from wine bottles and a who lot more items we normally throw into the trash.  Each item is worth two cents.  You can also recycle cell phones there, but I don’t plan on using them for cell phones.  I started this a month or so ago and my computer room has a lot of chip bags, tape dispensers, empty elmer glue sticks, etc, etc,.  The goal of terracycle is to get this stuff out of our garbage and help our planet by recycling.  I think this could be a good community service for our lodges and chapters.  The checks will come to Moose Charities twice a year.  It sounds like a small amount of money, but if all chapters and lodges start saving the rewards for Moose Charities could be great and the reward in our landfills and for our planet will also be great.  I would like to see this program endorsed by you and added to our other saving programs.  The postage is free and we send them to terracycle and no counting for you guys.  I feel this is truly another opportunity to make money.  As the economy is bad for us all I truly feel saving a bag or a candy bar wrapper is a good way to support Moose Charities.  To make it even easier bring them to conventions and them have them turn them in.  So easy.  At my husband’s district meeting the lodges and chapters bring things to me.  Today I received a large zip lock bag full of pop tops and an envelope full of coke numbers that I will donate to MC.  Keep the communication up and this will bring lots of money to MC.

Have a great week.

Hi All,

Happy New to each and everyone and hope you all enjoyed the recent Holidays.
Now it's time to get in the collection mode for our children at Mooseheart. Starting
January 11th through February 19th we at Moose Charities are doing our first Recycle Drive for Mooseheart.

Please mark these dates on your calendars and tell all you can about this drive.

With many getting new cell phones and electronic games along with lap top computers for Christmas we need to try and get as many people as possible to donate their old items to us so we can recycle, during this time period as we will get extra money for all we send in, we need to try and collect all the cell phones along with their chargers and accessories, lap top computers with all cords/any electronic game that children have tired of/DVD Movies (in their original cases) please collect those also and of course we still take the used or new ink cartridges. Please talk to your friends, family, neighbors, coworkers, any business you regularly go to and ask if they would consider helping you in your quest. At this time Cell phones generate the most money but all items are welcome.

Just imagine how many extra dollars we could bring in for our Child City if we all get involved in this drive??

We need all the participation we can get during this time period, we will continue to collect all these and more items all year long but this push is an extra special event.

If you have any questions about labels please email me (sthomp1127@msn.com) and I will put you in direct contact with the young lady at Cartridge for Kids and she will get you the supplies you need. It is really easy, all you have to do is decide who will be the collector and where the items will be dropped off or picked up and gather all together, pack in a large box or how many you need (please include information inside the box as to where these items are coming from (example WOTM Chapter #9999 or Lodge #9999 and your name and address) just make sure it is shown it's from the Moose Fraternity and seal the box, slap the label on the box and either drop off at a FED-X store or call the 1-800 number and they will pick it up at your home or lodge (in most cases) Remember I am only a email or call 1-719-641-4437 away.

I want this drive to be a huge success and it will be with your help. We can do it I know we can

In Friendship and Love;
Sandy Thompson
