Dear Jan,

I wanted to take this opportunity to Brag about the Wyoming Women of The Moose.

The Wyoming co-workers wanted to do something to raise funds for GIMME 5 and came up with the idea of cutting squares of material, sending them to Scott Hart and asking if he would have each of our children sign their names on the square and send back to Wyoming. They would put quilt together and sell chances. With approval, this was done and a beautiful quilt was completed with each of our children's name and hand prints on it. Many added their own personal touches to the quilt as it was very special to them.

The quilt was displayed in Chicago at the International Convention. We wanted to let all know that over $3,000 was raised for GIMME 5 This was certainly a WOW moment for GIMME 5 and Wyoming!!

Thanks to each and everyone who purchased a chance on the quilt. We extend deepest gratitude to the Wyoming Women of The Moose for their dedication to this Fraternity and many hours of sewing.

The winning ticket was won by one of our male residents at Moosehaven -- how wonderful was that?? He was so excited when he found out.

Thank You.

Dear Jan,

Wanted to share a note of pride that I share for my State of Colorado for their participation in the "Recycle for Mooseheart" program (formally Cartridge for kids)

Since the start of this program a few years ago, we as Moose members have helped raise over $13,000 for our children at Mooseheart through recycling certain items (all listed on the Moose Charities Web Site).

Each Lodge/Chapter starts new totals on 5-1 and for the first two months of this year we have 41 States taking part in this program (are you one of them?) and Colorado has 98% Lodge/Chapter commitment in this program. I asked them to help and take part and they have done just that. In the first two months of this year, Nationwide totals are at $235.00 and Colorado stands at $102.16. If we had raised just another $15.40 we would have 1/2 of what other States have raised in two months. If you add Colorado's total for year to date to the rest of the 40 States, Colorado is only $66.48 short of 1/2 of the total for the year!! Bummer, have to try harder!!

Does this show that Colorado Moose Love and Believe in helping raise the necessary funds for Mooseheart?? You bet it does - and I am extremely proud of our State as I am of the entire Fraternity for their help, but had to brag on my fellow Colorado Brothers and Sisters!!

We in Colorado would love to be dethroned for the 2nd half of this year, and we love a good challenge, but we won't go down without a fight!! Anyone interested???? Start collecting your recycle items - box them up and get them sent in and see if you can beat Colorado. If you have any questions please email me at sthomp1127@msn.com and I will tell you how to get started.

Subject: A Blessing of the Bikes message received via the Illinois Moose Rider website.

My name is Matt Schenden.   I went for the group ride today for the first time.   I never knew there was so much behind one of these rides.   My daughter is one of those kids that fell through the cracks and did not get a chance with her childhood.   I think it is great that your organization can help kids like that. It made me feel proud to be a small part of it.   I got a tear at the blessing of the bikes.   You can guarantee this day changed me for life and I would like to be a more charitable person in the future.   It’s great to see such a big turnout. I live in Oswego and this was my first group ride ever .

Thanx, Matt

Kicked off the selling of the $5 gimmefive hands at the lodge last night...had a great response...out of 21 people there 19 purchased the hands and the 2 who didn't were spouses of the ones that did. Hope to get this kind of response every time. Still amazed at how many have never heard of gimmefive and when explaining it how many don't even know what the endowment fund is until you mention the cradle at the 9:00 ceremony.

Also sent out an email about the Florida trip and got some response back on that, looks like about 10 - 12 of those have sold.

Have a wonderful and safe 4th of July

Dear Sandra,

On behalf of the staff at Moose International, and members of the Order, I want to thank the Class of 2009 for their generous contribution of $182.50 to Moose Charities for Gimme Five, and to Mooseheart High School for athletic banners for the NAC Conference.

I have always been impressed by what our students are able to do in raising funds with limited capabilities and numerous time constraints.  This year was no exception, and you – as the President – have to be equally as proud of our classmates.

Hope all is well with you as you prepare to move on to higher education opportunities.  I look forward to seeing you again sometime in the future.  Please stay in touch.

                                                                        Very truly yours,

                                                                        DIRECTOR GENERAL
